Asst. Prof. M. Mustafa Cetin leading the SOPR Lab at KHAS, İstanbul, Türkiye, and his colleague Asst. Prof. Hao Li from Zhejiang University and ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center, Hangzhou, China have currently published an article at ACS Org. Lett. on Dec 2nd, 2022. In this work, Dr. Cetin, Dr. Li and their colleagues have synthesized a prism-shaped cage-type molecule (pictured) using a Lewis-acid-catalyzed Friedel–Crafts reaction. Upon being available online, the work has been recognized by the ChemistryViews (The Magazine of Chemistry Europe) of Wiley-VCH GmbH (https://www.chemistryviews.org/prism-shaped-organic-cage/) with a title of “Prism-Shaped Organic Cage” on Dec 10th, 2022.
